The Heart Behind Real Estate Sales
From Passion to Purpose!
With more than 1.6 million licensed real estate agents in the US, competition to win the listing or bring in the buyer is fierce. The booming housing market is only making the landscape more competitive. Real estate transactions often seem transactional but once in a while I am reminded again of the heartfelt stories that reaffirm my purpose, the “why” in choosing real estate as a profession.
Buying or selling a home is always a big decision. For first-time homebuyers the process can feel frustrating, especially in the current market, where low inventory is leading to a highly competitive bidding process. Today, I am delighted to share a tale that resonates with the very essence of the Waikoloa Village community, connection, and the joy of finding one’s place to call home.
Among the numerous Waikoloa listings gracing my portfolio, there stood a special property on Lahi Lahi Street – a diamond in the rough, brimming with potential and in need of a caring touch. My clients and sellers’ wish was simple yet profound: to pass it on to someone who could transform it into a home once more. It was in this search for the perfect match that their wish led me to Elissa, a young local gal with dreams as vibrant as the Hawaiian sunset, who met roadblocks many times while searching for her first home but never gave up!
As Elissa set foot on the property, her eyes lit up with hope and possibility. With her father, Evert, a skilled contractor by her side, and her mother, Linda Hussey, a friend and respected Realtor here on the Big Island, the stars aligned in a serendipitous dance!
An offer was made, accepted, and sealed – a new chapter ready to begin. The keys to her future home now belong to Elissa, a testament to her resilience, strength, and unwavering belief in making her dreams a reality!
As Elissa prepares to move out from her parents home and step into the realm of homeownership, my heart swells with pride, for in this moment, I witness my “why” materialize before my eyes.
In Elissa, I see not just a new homeowner, but a first-time homebuyer whose journey embodies the essence of hope, resilience, and the unwavering determination to finally find a place to call her own in Waikoloa, where she has been living for years with her supportive parents. The magic of witnessing someone take their first step into homeownership is a privilege that never ceases to inspire and remind me of the profound impact our work in real estate can have on someone’s life’s journey.
In the echoes of laughter yet to fill the renovated halls of this Waikoloa Village home, a celebration beckons. A toast to new beginnings, paint, furniture and landscape design to match a detailed home remodel plan by Elissa years ago when she first started seeking a home.
Here’s to Elissa, to Linda, to Evert, and to all the dreamers and believers who understand that in the world of real estate, the true magic lies not just in transactions, but in the stories of hearts finding their place to call home. Cheers to the journey ahead, the memories yet to be made, and the joy of seeing dreams unfold within the walls of your new home!
